About the event

Deconstructing Taste: The Science of Pairing

Have you ever wondered why a wine tastes completely different depending on what you are eating? Taste is not just an opinion—it is a science!

Join us at the Cadillac Winery tasting room for a hands-on, 45-minute workshop where we break down the fundamental rules of food and wine pairing. You will start by testing your own genetic sensitivity to bitterness to see if you are a "super-taster," discovering exactly why you naturally gravitate toward certain wine styles. From there, we will guide you through a curated tasting utilizing a specialized sensory plate to deliberately clash and harmonize with your palate. You will experience firsthand how everyday ingredients like lemon, salt, umami, and spice can instantly soften harsh tannins, mask high acidity, or completely strip the fruit away from your favorite wines.

What’s Included:

  • Curated Tasting Flight: Four distinct Cadillac Winery pours.
